Windows Vista & Service Packs

Postby Winch on Sat Oct 24, 2009 11:01 pm

Hi guys,
I don't know if anyone here can help with this? I recently had to do a product restore on my laptop which has Windows Vista it has carried out various updates but Windows Service Pack 1 is listed as a failed update however it is not offering me the chance to try installing it again! This is causing all kinds of headaches with messenger programs and my Antivirus and Firewall of choice as they both demand that SP1 is installed before they will install!

Please don't point me to Microsofts website in general as I have looked and cannot find a solution there if however you have a link direct to the solution then fine!

Thanks for any help.
Regards

Winch

Problem has finally resolved itself with a little help but I was looking for an economical solution for a normal wage slave! I would have gone BACK to XP except that since the laptop came pre-installed with Vista that wasn't an option!
